LHH is working with an HVAC, Mechanical, and Plumbing Construction firm in Ft Worth, TX 76155 that is seeking a Mechancial Construction Estimator for Direct Hire.
M-F 8a to 5pm,
Based out of Ft Worth office with worksites in North Texas area
This critical position will be highly visible in the company's operations, preparing portions of contract proposal estimates for multiple disciplines such as sheet metal, mechanical piping, and plumbing. The Estimator will perform estimating take-offs on systems to calculate quantity survey of all material, labor, and equipment values according to project plans and specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret project narratives, specifications, and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Attend pre-bid meetings and/or tour job sites to confirm requisite take-offs as needed.
- Prepare estimates using EST-MEP, Bluebeam, and Revit estimating software.
- Work with Sr. Estimator to populate equipment, fixtures, material, and labor unit values into the estimate recapitulation workbook.
- Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures.
- Support other department personnel as required; may include preparing estimates in other disciplines.
- Provide support to field operations regarding mechanical and plumbing estimates.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years estimating construction projects including HVAC, Plumbing, Hydronic piping systems, or med gas systems.
- Proficient with EST-MEP, Bluebeam, Revit or similar industry estimating software is desirable but not necessary.
- Working knowledge of all mechanical and plumbing disciplines, estimating techniques, and interpretation of construction documents.
- Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems.
- Ability to perform thorough detailed work and successfully meet deadlines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some technical training or advanced relevant education preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel software.
